How to Evaluate a Top Sanitary Pad Factory for OEM/ODM Orders

2026-06-04

"Top factory" usually means "biggest booth." That's not how you should pick who makes your sanitary pads. Evaluation is about fit to your order, not someone's award shelf. Here's the scorecard I'd actually use.

Products — can one plant cover your range?

If you sell pads and pants, a plant that runs both on in-house lines keeps one QC system instead of three. Ask where the line stops and sub-suppliers start; the answer tells you who owns your quality.

Samples — the real audition

A "top" factory still has to pass your wear test: topsheet feel, rewet after load, wing adhesion. Approve a pre-production sample matched to spec before any bulk talk. The sample is the audition; the booth is the trailer.

QC — where it lives

In-line + pre-shipment AQL + retained sample, run by the plant. If QC is "the forwarder's job," it happens after you've paid. Write the checkpoints into the PO so a busy line can't drop them.

Packaging — print control

In-house or tightly-controlled pack printing means an artwork change doesn't wait on an outside vendor. For private label, that's the difference between a two-week relaunch and a two-month one.

Communication — the signal test

Scorecard, weighted

Give the most weight to in-house production, named inputs, and batch test data. Booth size, "global reach," and award photos get near-zero. A plant that wins on the first three will still be good when the logo fades.

Opinion: the best evaluation is boring. Line, inputs, tests, QC, lead time. Everything else is decoration you pay a premium for.

Questions buyers actually ask

Does "top" mean "biggest"?

No. It means best fit to your order: in-house lines, named inputs, batch test data, and a lead time they'll commit to. Size is a weak proxy.

How much should samples cost?

A serious plant charges a small development fee or signs it against the first order. Free samples of the wrong spec are worthless; pay for the right one.

Can Nafei cover pads + pants?

Yes — both run in-house, so a combined private label stays under one QC system. See OEM setup or ask via contact.

What's the one red flag?

A supplier who can't show the line or name the SAP. No booth polish overrides that.
