Lightweight Period Pants Upgrade: Old-vs-New Sample Approval

An upgraded 2.0 label does not tell an OEM buyer what changed. A useful old-versus-new review identifies the construction, weight direction, fit, surface, absorbent structure and pack differences, then records which version is approved for the target market.

Create a Change List First

Ask the supplier to list each intended change and whether it affects material, dimension, process or packaging. Mark items as proposed, sampled or approved. This prevents unrelated changes from being hidden behind one upgrade name.

Compare Samples Side by Side

Use the same size and review method where possible. Record thickness direction, hand feel, waistband response, leg opening, coverage and post-test condition. Photos should show both sample codes and the same viewing angle.

Keep Lightweight and Absorbency Separate

A thinner or lighter direction should not be treated as proof of a particular absorbency result. Run the buyer's standard test for both versions and compare outcomes using the same matrix.

Check Whether Fit Changed

Material or elastic changes may alter fit even when the printed size name remains the same. Repeat the fit review and update the size table if needed before artwork is approved.

Approve the Commercial Version

State which sample code, pack, size chart and wording belong to the upgraded SKU. If old stock remains, define how warehouses and distributors will distinguish it from the new version.
