Russian Sanitary Pad Packaging: A Private Label Localization Checklist

Russian Sanitary Pad Packaging: A Private Label Localization Checklist

Russian-language packaging can help a sanitary pad range look ready for its destination market, but translation alone does not make a pack production-ready. A buyer still needs to confirm the product specification, the meaning of every claim, the required market information, the packaging structure and the final language review.

This LANCOOL floral packaging study presents three concepts: a 10-piece Normal day pad, a 7-piece Super pad and a 7-piece Natural pad. The images are design concepts, not final printed retail packs. They are useful for showing how one visual family can cover several SKUs, and where localization and product evidence must be improved before printing.

What works in the LANCOOL Russian packaging concept

The strongest part of the design is its range structure. Each pack keeps the LANCOOL logo, floral theme, product count and absorbency indicators in familiar positions. Color then separates the three product directions:

  • Light pink for the 10-piece Normal concept
  • Deep pink for the 7-piece Super concept
  • Green for the 7-piece Natural concept

This makes the family easy to scan on a shelf while giving each SKU a distinct identity. The floral illustrations also create a recognizable visual system that can be adapted across retail pouches, cartons and online product listings.

Localization is more than translating the front panel

A Russian pack must sound natural to a Russian-speaking customer and still describe the actual product accurately. The wording should be reviewed at three levels:

  1. Language: Is the Russian clear, grammatical and consistent?
  2. Product accuracy: Does each phrase match the approved sample and specification?
  3. Market use: Does the final pack contain the information required by the destination country and importer?

Russia and Central Asia should not be treated as one identical label market. Russian may be widely understood, but the required language combination, importer information and conformity route can differ by country. Confirm the destination before the artwork is locked, and have the importer or a qualified local reviewer approve the final copy.

Russian wording to review before printing

The following table uses phrases visible in the concept artwork. It is an editorial review, not a substitute for local legal approval.

Concept wording Meaning Recommended review
ПРОКЛАДКИ Pads Clear but general. Add the product type, length and intended use.
НОРМАЛ Normal May work as range shorthand, but it should not replace the actual length or use description.
СУПЕР Super Too broad on its own. Add product length and a clear usage description.
10 ШТ / 7 ШТ 10 pieces / 7 pieces Use one consistent style. In running Russian text, the usual abbreviation is lowercase with a period: 10 шт.
АНАТОМИЧНАЯ ФОРМА Anatomical shape АНАТОМИЧЕСКАЯ ФОРМА is the more standard product wording.
ОТЛИЧНОЕ ВПИТЫВАНИЕ Excellent absorption This is a performance claim. Confirm the test method and product evidence or use more neutral wording.
100% ХЛОПОК 100% cotton Ambiguous because shoppers may read it as the entire product. If verified, identify the exact component, such as the topsheet.
ГИПОАЛЛЕРГЕННО Hypoallergenic Use only with suitable product-specific substantiation and destination-market review.

The concept documents also mix SKU 1 with СКЮ 2. Keep one format across the project. For a buyer-facing technical file, SKU is clearer; for consumer packaging, an internal SKU number usually does not need to appear on the front panel.

Add the missing specification information

The current concept shows pack count and a drop scale, but not the pad length. For private-label sanitary pads, length is one of the most useful comparison points. A complete brief should confirm:

  • Nominal pad length and width
  • Day, night or other intended use
  • Winged or wingless format
  • Topsheet and absorbent core configuration
  • Target thickness
  • Pieces per pack
  • Individual wrapper requirements
  • Retail pouch dimensions and carton packing

The 10-piece and 7-piece counts shown in the visuals can be used as concept references, but the final range should be built around the products selected after sample review. Buyers can compare available formats on the LANCOOL sanitary pad and pantyliner page.

Separate visual positioning from product claims

Floral art, color and product naming communicate positioning. Absorption, cotton content, breathability, hypoallergenic performance and leakage protection are different: they describe the product and need evidence.

Before printing, create a claim file for each SKU. Record the exact proposed wording, the component it refers to, the supporting material or test document, and the person who approved it. This is especially important when the same artwork system covers products with different topsheets or cores.

For example, a cotton flower illustration can express a natural visual direction, but it does not prove that the complete pad is made from cotton. If only the topsheet uses a verified cotton material, the pack should identify that component clearly instead of using a broad "100% cotton" statement.

Replace placeholder microtext before the design review

The small text visible along the top edge of the concept packs is not suitable for production. It should be replaced with complete, readable copy prepared for the actual pouch dieline. Do not use AI-generated or decorative placeholder text in print files.

The top, back and side panels may need space for:

  • Product name, type, length and count
  • Materials or composition information
  • Directions for use and disposal
  • Required warnings
  • Manufacturer and importer details
  • Country of origin
  • Batch identification and relevant date marking
  • Barcode and customer-service contact
  • Required marks and destination-market languages

These fields affect layout and font size. They should be included before the final design approval, not added after the visual concept has already filled every panel.

Plan separate language files for Russia and Central Asia

A single Russian-only file may not be the right solution for every destination. Start the packaging brief with a country list, not a broad region label. Then confirm whether one multilingual pack is practical or whether separate files are needed.

For each market, ask the importer to review:

  • Required consumer language or languages
  • Importer or responsible-party wording
  • Conformity assessment and marking route
  • Date, batch and shelf-life presentation
  • Barcode ownership and retail requirements
  • Claims that require additional evidence or qualification

For a broader comparison of destination requirements, see Canada and Russia/EAEU sanitary pad compliance. The final route must be confirmed against the selected SKU and destination.

Prepare a production-ready OEM handoff

A visual mock-up shows the direction. A production file must also show how the package will be made. Before requesting a final quotation, provide or confirm:

  1. Approved product code and sample
  2. Product length, structure and pack count
  3. Finished pouch dimensions and material specification
  4. Print-ready logo and vector artwork
  5. Dieline with seal, fold and gusset areas
  6. Color references and printing requirements
  7. Final Russian or multilingual copy
  8. Barcode, importer details and approved claims
  9. Carton quantity and shipping marks

How Guangdong Nafei can review a Russian packaging project

The LANCOOL floral series is a packaging direction for discussion, not a statement that the three concepts are already approved for every Russian-speaking market. Product specifications, claims, language, packaging material, order quantity and destination requirements must be confirmed separately.

To evaluate a private-label project, send your target country, preferred pad lengths, pieces per pack, product positioning, required languages and expected order quantity. We can compare the brief with available samples and identify which artwork and product questions should be resolved before quotation and printing.
