Female Sanitary Napkins OEM/ODM: A Private-Label Program Guide

2026-06-04

"Solutions" is a vague word in this trade — usually a synonym for "we'll sell you something." A real private-label napkin program is concrete: which products, what you can change, how samples work, and what QC signs off. Here's what I'd put on the table if you were briefing me.

Start by admitting the category has three jobs — day, night, liner — and they're not the same pad. A program that treats them as one SKU loses on all three.

Product selection

  • Day pad. Moderate SAP, shorter, winged. The volume SKU — get the topsheet feel right, it's what people notice first.
  • Night pad. Higher SAP load, longer, wider back. This is where leaks get reviewed; don't under-spec it to save a cent.
  • Liner. Thin, low SAP, for between days. Easy to overlook, but it's the repeat-purchase hook.

What you can actually customize

ElementCustomizable?Note
SAP loadYesDrives absorbency; name it in grams.
TopsheetYesCotton-feel vs smooth; basis weight matters.
Wings / shapeYes (tooling)Structural change needs new mold.
Pack printYesAdds plate + MOQ; do after product proves.

Samples, packaging, QC — in that order

Sample first, always. A physical pad shows topsheet feel and wing adhesion no quote captures. Then packaging — get the regulatory text per market in the brief so cartons aren't reprinted. Then QC: a current GB/T 8939 test report tied to your spec, not a stock SKU from last year.

The mistake I see: buyers lock packaging before they've touched the pad. You get a beautiful carton around a product you haven't validated. Sample, then print.

Questions buyers actually ask

Do I need all three product types to start?

No. Most private labels start with a day and a night pad, add a liner once the repeat shows. But brief all three so the factory prices the range, not just the first two. Our napkin line shows the three as a set.

What's the minimum I can customize?

SAP load and topsheet are the easy wins — no tooling. Shape and wings need a new mold. Start with the easy changes; add structural custom once volume justifies tooling.

How do samples work for a private label?

You get a pad tied to your spec, not a catalogue one. Check topsheet feel and wing adhesion physically. Our team sends the sample before any print commitment.

What QC do I get at the end?

A GB/T 8939 test report on your actual spec, current dated. That's the document that proves the pad meets the standard — not a certificate from a stock SKU.
